  4. Hi Chloe,

Thank you for your post, it's great to hear from you!! Cooper IS awesome and we are really glad you will soon be a part of the school and in particular Winston Churchill House. I'm glad I am house welfare manager too!!

For the first day, you need to bring just a bag with pens, pencils, ruler, rubber, sharpener etc and lunch, if you are having a packed lunch, or money if you are buying something from the canteen. You will be given books and anything else you need when you get here.

Hope you have a great summer break Chloe, see you soon.

  10. Hello Tim, Grace,Caylea and Darcey! Thanks for blogging, it's very exciting to check the blog and see the posts from you all.

You will all have a great time at Cooper in September and Tim, I am glad you are feeling calm and looking forward to it!

A good tip Grace, is to just come along, listen to all the information and enjoy yourself. If you have any problems, you know what to do? You just speak to one of us.

For the first day Caylea and Darcey, you need to bring pen, pencil etc, lunch if you bring your own or money to buy something from the canteen. You will meet at the front of the school, as you did on your taster day, for 8.40. Everything else will be sorted from there. You don't need your PE kit for the first day and you will very quickly get the hang of the A and B week once you get your timetable.

Looking forward to seeing you all again. Keep an eye on the blog and see what other information is on here.

    Take care

  15. Hello all,

I hope your having a great summer break and getting excited for September!

To answer the queries so far:

CA16 is indeed the Drama Studio.

CHLOE, I would be very surprised if you get lost as so many people will be helping you to get around the school. If you did somehow manage it, you can just ask any adult you see around the site. There will be plenty of people around. Don't worry :)

DARCEY, you will get your planner from your form tutor and your bag should be big enough to fit in all you need for a whole day at school. That includes books, equipment and lunch if you bring your own. May be best to have a seperate PE bag, but if you want to fit that in too, then make sure you have plenty of room.

CHLOE W, you should have a booklet at home that was given to you in your registration pack, or at your interview. All the uniform is listed in there so it should tell you what to wear for PE.

Hope that's answered your queries for now. See you all soon :)

  16. Where do the year 10's go on their first day because I have heard from some people we have to go to the performance hal but someone else told me that we have to go to our form room!? :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. As far as I am aware, there will be an assembly first thing on the day you return, however, I am not sure if year 10's are to go to form first. I will be in school from the 1st September, so I will check the details and post the updated information then.

    Thanks for your post

  20. Hi Mrs Waller,

How is our timetable going to work because we don't have a afternoon regastragion and in the morning we have a half an hour reg rather than 20mintues? Also what time do we start and finish?

  21. Do we need to bring our old exercise books in from last year or do we get new ones for each lesson?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hello Darcey R,

Always a good idea to have some coloured pens and pencils in your pencil case if you can.

Regarding hair accessories, if you have a look at the uniform policy it should explain what you can and can't wear, but as a general rule anything worn in your hair should not be too over the top. If in doubt, check with your form tutor in morning registration.

  23. In response to the Anonymous questions,

the school day starts at 8.40 as normal and then you will be registered during the morning tutor period. You will then be registered again during period 5, so will go straight to that lesson after lunch. I will check on the times for the rest of the lessons and put an updated post on tomorrow (2nd)

I'm sure you will get new exercise books in all lessons, but will again check tomorrow and update the post. It's always a good idea to keep all your old exercise books though as it is helpful to look through them for revising. :)

  24. Update on the post above:-

School starts at 8.40 and you will go to registration, this will end at 9.05 when you will go to lesson one. Lunch will now start at 1.25 (12.25 on Wednesday) and finish at 2.15 (1.15 on Wednesday), you will then go straight to lesson 5 and you will be registered during that lesson.
The school day will still end at 3.20 (2.20 on Wednesday)
If you are not sure on anything, come and see me in House Welfare.

    Emily

  26. Hi Emily,

You will be going to lessons if you are in on Friday 3rd, once you have been to assembly and tutor time.

You will not need PE kits for your first day.

  27. Hi i just have a little confusion about what to cover school books with, so before i go off to town to get something, could you please just let me know what they are to use, thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Re the comment above about covering the books, It seems that generally it can be anything such as wrapping paper, brown paper, pictures cut out from magasines etc as long as it is appropriate for the school environment and the whole book is covered rather than just one picture.

Hope that is helpfull, if you need any further information dont hesitate to blog or call.

  29. hi I was just wondering about how I could find out about after school clubs?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hello Anonymous above.......if you come and see me in the House Welfare office, opposite Learn 2 Learn, I will find the information and let you know. The information changes each year, depending on which staff are running after school clubs, so may not be published just yet.

    Thanks for blogging
